NIKKI BERGSTROM

Nikki Bergstrom is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and Mediator. She offers services in the areas of psychoeducational (psych-ed) assessment and intervention, counselling/therapy, and mediation of family and divorce conflicts. Nikki works with children, adolescents, adults, and families relative to mental health, educational/learning, and relationship concerns (e.g. ADHD, anxiety, giftedness, cognitive and executive functioning, relationship or family dynamic and communication difficulties, etc.). She has specialized training and knowledge in diverse areas such as child development, school/child psychology, anxiety and neurodevelopmental disorders, trauma informed and somatic therapy modalities, family systems, mediation, and high conflict matters concerning children/families within the context of separation and divorce.

Nikki completed her graduate training at the University of Calgary (Master of Science in School & Applied Child Psychology), where she also assumed paid research assistantships in a variety of subject areas (e.g. ADHD; Autism; school-based Covid-19 safety measures). In 2022, she was recognized by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) for her thesis research and was awarded a Laureate of the CPA Certificate of Academic Excellence.

  • 70 - hour externship in Systemic Family Therapy (Calgary Family Therapy Centre)

  • Meeting with Parents, and Meeting with Children: A Child-Centered Approach (The International Centre for Children and Family Law)

  • Mediation of Family and Divorce Conflicts (Legal Education Society of Alberta)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Consulting)

  • Autism assessment (ADOS-2/ADI-R training via Autism Spectrum Education Research and Training)
