His work includes family education, consultation, in-home assessment, and clinical interventions, while promoting family preservation, and/or reunification. In his work with individuals, he has expertise working with a variety of client challenges related to addiction and mental health such as anger management, substance use and misuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and other DSM-V diagnoses.

He incorporates several therapeutic frameworks including attachment theory, family systems theory, strength based, and person centered. In his clinical work, Jason uses a variety of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy with specialized treatment for individuals struggling with anger, violence, substance use disorders and trauma. Jason’s clinical approach is collaborative, client-centered, flexible, and based on the belief that individuals have many strengths to support them in their journey. He is highly relational and attuned to the needs of his clients and families.

Jason is a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Social Work, where he has been teaching since 2017. He was nominated by his students, and received the Students Union Honorable Mention Teaching Award in 2023, as well as the Faculty of Social Work Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2023, for his exemplary work as an instructor.
