KEISHA ARSHAD

Keisha Arshad is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology at Mount Royal University and earned her Master of Arts in Counselling (MAC) from the City University of Seattle. During her studies, she was recognized for her academic excellence with multiple scholarships and awards, including the City University of Seattle Scholarship (2020/2021/2023) and the Outstanding Sociology Student Award (2018-2019). Currently, Keisha is working towards her Doctorate of Behavioural Health at the Cummings Graduate Institute. She is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Canadian Psychological Association.

Before entering private practice, Keisha spent over eight years working in the social services sector, supporting children, parents, and families facing challenges such as domestic violence, family conflict, co-parenting difficulties, and generational trauma. Additionally, she has experience and training in supporting individuals such as healthcare and childcare professionals affected by compassion fatigue and occupational burnout.

Therapeutic Approach and Areas of Expertise

Keisha has experience working with various client concerns, including family conflict, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, attachment wounds, trauma, depression, ADHD, PTSD and more. Her therapeutic approach integrates multiple frameworks, including Strengths-Based, Trauma-Informed, Client-Centred, Attachment-Based, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Family Systems therapy. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS). 

In her work with children, Keisha incorporates integrative play and expressive arts therapy, along with behavioural and narrative therapy techniques. Under the mentorship of Dr. Terry Kottman at the League of Extraordinary Adlerian Play Therapists, she has completed foundational training in Adlerian Play Therapy. Her clinical approach is holistic and client-centered, with a passion for social justice and equity and a strong belief that clients are the experts in their own lives.

Keisha is professionally fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
